A Year of Reclaim

This year, I am releasing my Fury in order to reclaim and make space for Peace.

I joked about this in our latest episode of the "Currently Obsessed" podcast, saying how I was On Fire for so many things in 2020...and how I don't want to get rid of my passion entirely but I would like to soften it. Hence the quote in the episode title, "I want to be a wood-wick candle in 2021," a small, steady flame with just the occasional crackle.

I said this while laughing, treating the illustration with the silliness I thought it deserved. But in reality, this is my truth. I was on fire for so many things last year, burning with Fury, Disappointment, Frustration, and Heartbreak...like so many of us, I'm sure.

Starting a new year doesn't fix all of our problems. (It certainly hasn't fixed any of mine.) But I am taking this new year as an opportunity to set down the fury that fanned my flames, to turn down the Bunsen burner and aim instead to be that wood-wick candle.

I want to reclaim Stability, make space for Stillness, and Soothe my fiery heart so I can continue to move forward without the weight of a train made of ash behind me. I truly do want to be a wood-wick candle in 2021. Would you like to join me?
